A customer called today asking us to unclog the main line at his business and said he had some cleanouts inside the building. The technician called the customer to let him know he was on his way and asked about the cleanouts inside the building. The customer actually did not have cleanouts inside the building but, he had floor drains inside the building. When the technician explained to him that we don't clean main lines through floor drains, the customer told the technician that somebody cleaned the main line through the floor drain previously. However, they were stopped up again. The technician told him that was because you cannot run a large sewer cable through a floor drain and the line was cleared improperly through the floor drain. Apparently, the customer was the person that cleaned the main line through the floor drain. He became offended and hung up the phone. The technician did not mean to offend him, he was just stating a fact. Please don't be offended when we point out something that was performed incorrectly. We are here to help and want to let you know how to prevent multiple service calls for the same problem.
