Apparently, Obama doesn't need an energy policy! American Plumbing Company, Port Allen, LA
Well, gas is getting up toward $4.00 per gallon nationwide and what is Obama's answer? Everybody should being buying hybrids or electric cars. Well, isn't that just awesome? I guess all the 18 wheelers on the road are going to go hybrid. Oh, maybe we're all going to have solar panels or windmills on our vehicles. Talk about an empty suit. Hopefully, the Republicans will get it together and put a legitimate presidential candidate in the race this time. Hopefully, we can all hang on till 2012.

At the end of every year we have to send all of our renewal paperwork to the different parishes and cities throughout the surrounding Baton Rouge area. Well, every year when we have to get a permit in Gonzales we are requested to send in all of the paperwork that we already sent in months earlier. It's always very stressful because you want to make sure the customer gets there inspection in a timely fashion. The people at the Gonzales Permit Office want to act like it's your fault. So, today like every other year when this happened again. I sat back and thought to myself, CAN'T YOU JUST DO YOUR JOB? Very frustrating. Oh well, tomorrow is Friday!

When a cheap bootleg plumber isn't so cheap! American Plumbing Company, Brusly, LA
We received a call this morning from a nice lady wanting to know if we could install a reverse osmosis filtration system. She explained that she already paid somebody over $1,000.00 to install the system and she still does not have any water. I assured her that we could take care of it. Well, upon arrival we found the filtration was missing a part and the original plumber installed the filter incorrectly. When the technician was explaining to the customer why she was was not getting any water she showed the technician the business card of the plumber that originally installed the filter. As expected, this so called plumber WAS NOT licensed, insured or bonded. Just another example of a cheap price being not so cheap. This unlicensed so called plumber was charging the customer $85.00 per hour. Wow, what a big savings. NOT!

I met with a lady today about her drain line that is busted in her slab. I told her what was right, what was wrong, what was legal and what was illegal. All she was worried about was her floor tile. You know sometimes companies feed potential customers so much incorrect information that it makes it difficult on companies that are just trying to do the right thing. There are times you evaluate the whole situation and say to yourself, I might need to back away and not even pursue this job. This may just be one of those cases. The bad thing is that in the future I know this customer will have more problems if it is not corrected properly.

Today was one of those days where the most pressing job was the one we were doing for free. It's one of those situations where you have to believe that you bless to be a blessing. It was good to see that we helped somebody that really needed it. Have a great weekend and enjoy the St. Patrick's Day Parade.

Right again! American Plumbing Company, Addis, LA
About a month ago we installed a boiler for a local motel chain that they furnished. Upon installation we informed the so called engineer the boiler required a holding tank. He told us that his maintenance man could start it up without a holding tank. We said okay and went about our merry way. Two weeks later the manager for the motel calls us out on a Saturday and said a fitting blew out at the boiler. When the technician arrived we found a fitting blew out at the holding tank the maintenance man installed next to the boiler we installed. So not only were we correct that the boiler required a holding tank but, it cost them twice to have the holding tank installed. Once to have their maintenance man install the holding tank and once to have us come out on the weekend and repair the fitting that was installed incorrectly at the holding tank. I sure am glad I don't stay at that motel. Not to worry though. I'm sure they will still leave the light on for you. :)

We had a customer today that we called to let him know we were on our way. He said great. Upon arrival, our technician is greeted by 2 people that tell him don't bother somebody already came. We wasted our fuel and time for nothing. Then, the customer calls wanting to know where we are? Obviously, he was not at the home at the time of our technicians arrival. When we told him we already went to his home he asked us to return. So, what do we do? I'm leaning toward not. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

We had a customer today that we called to let him know we were on our way. He said great. Upon arrival, our technician is greeted by 2 people that tell him don't bother somebody already came. We wasted our fuel and time for nothing. Then, the customer calls wanting to know where we are? Obviously, he was not at the home at the time of our technicians arrival. When we told him we already went to his home he asked us to return. So, what do we do? I'm leaning toward not. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
